DAVID TAYLOR has worked in education for twenty-five years following a career in private industry and government service. Earning a BA in Canada and teacher qualifications in the USA, David has taught in Canada, Ecuador, Colombia, Egypt, Lebanon and Singapore. David has been involved with Model UN since 2001 and is currently Dean of International Relations at the Overseas Family School, Singapore with responsibilities for embedding Model UN skills and practices into the school curriculum across the primary, middle and secondary programmes; community outreach; professional development workshops; and conference organization.
David has taught at the middle school and elementary levels, and three years at university. He works with curriculum design at the PYP, MYP and DP levels of the IBO.
David was one of the founding pilot program teachers for the IBO Global Politics course, having taught the IB School Based Syllabus (SBS) World Politics course before that, and previously an International Relations Course of his own design.
David is an IBO trained Workshop Leader and has led workshops since 2015 in Hong Kong, Melbourne, Bangkok, Dubai, New Orleans, and Singapore. David has been a feature presenter at: the annual IBO Heads of School Conference; Qatar Leadership Conferences; Youth Leadership Conferences in Singapore; and numerous professional development events.
Research areas are: 21stCentury Learning; effective pedagogy for a new era; successful development of essential attributes for the modern learner; technology application for the global learner.
