Tim Garry has taught mathematics from middle school to university since 1984 and worked as head of math at three international schools. Tim is co-author (with Ibrahim Wazir) of popular textbooks for IB Math SL & Math HL; has been an IB examiner for external and internal assessment, contributor to IB curriculum reviews, member of Maths HL exam writing teams, speaker at more than 15 maths education conferences since 1992; and has led more than 20 math technology/GDC workshops and more than 40 IB mathematics workshops.
Mrs. Cindy Rust has been teaching mathematics since 1983 and IB mathematics since 1994. In Canada, she received her Mathematics Degree (honours) from the University of Waterloo and her Masters in Education from the University of Ottawa. Her first IB mathematics teaching opportunity was in Tokyo Japan, followed several years later by being the Head of the Mathematics Departments in schools in Washington, DC and then in Ottawa. Since 2014, Cindy teaches IB mathematics in Brussels, Belgium, leading a school to implement the IB DP program for the first time. Her interest and responsibilities in IB continue to grow. After being an examiner for IB Math SL paper one for 16 years, Cindy began leading mathematics workshops in 2010 for categories 1, 2 and 3. That same year, she also became an IB site visit inspector. She is excited to be part of IB in Europe.
Lorraine Heinrichs - is originally from Malta and has lived in Ruanda in Central Africa, the island of Montserrat in the Caribbean and Malta before moving to Germany. She has worked at BIS since 1999 teaching Mathematics HL and ToK. In 2002 she was appointed as IB DP coordinator. Lorraine is passionate about Mathematics and curriculum development. She has been a workshop leader for the IB since 2001 and has led workshops in many European countries, as well as the Middle East. She is a long-standing participant in curriculum reviews for Mathematics HL at the IB office in Cardiff, Wales. Having been a senior moderator for Mathematics HL for the past ten years, Lorraine will take on the position of Principal moderator starting with the May 2014 session. In addition, Lorraine has co-authored the Maths HL Course Companion published by Oxford University Press.
